What materials is the Essential Obasan 8" Organic Dunlop Latex Mattress made from and how does that affect daily comfort?
It uses 8 inches of GOLS-certified organic Dunlop latex with a 4-inch firm base and a 4-inch medium top layer, plus 100% certified organic cotton. The latex provides a firm to medium-firm feel that’s breathable and moisture-wicking for cooler sleep.
Who would this Obasan mattress suit best as a gift for and why?
Its eco-friendly materials, handcraftsmanship in Canada, and durable latex support make it a thoughtful choice for someone who values sustainability and a balanced, supportive sleep surface.
What are the key care points to keep this mattress looking and performing well?

How does the top layer of this mattress influence comfort, and can it be flipped?
Yes. The top layer is medium and can be flipped to present a slightly firmer feel, while the bottom layer remains firm, offering a versatile option to tune comfort.
What makes this latex mattress stand out in terms of climate and temperature?
The breathable, moisture-wicking latex and natural cotton cover promote airflow, helping to keep the sleeping surface cool and comfortable.
Does this mattress work with standard bed foundations or frames?
